You may ask why, but goals and plans create excitement, hope, determination and direction. When you point in the direction of something, you head towards it. These Goals and plans come out of dreams and aspirations. Perhaps they relate to where you want to be in a year or maybe 5, but making them is the beginning of your journey to attaining them.
What do you want? Where do your dreams point to?
Making goals is so vital to your success and gives you the greatest possibility of reaching that place you so want to get to.
In the same way that it is said “Where the mind goes the man follows”, ‘Where a goal is set, actions conducive to that goal are taken’.
So if your goal is financial, decide what you want it to be.
Then pick a time in the future to hit that financial goal but make it achievable.
Now, if you have fear, it needs irradicating, and that includes the need for perfectionism, all your ducks in a row – you will never leave the starting block if you wait for that.
Imagine you were doing a renovation and your builder informed you that it would take 12 weeks. As a person without the skills of a builder you need to know it will finish on time, so would ask where the project will be at week 11 in order to finish at week 12. Where it will you be at week 10 to hit the target at week 11, week 9 to hit week 10 week 8 to hit week 9 etc.
It is the same with your goal, Start with the end in mind and work backwards to start moving forwards.
Obviously it is different with property as it is fickle, But make small goals all the way and remember that we as a nation of people are very good at being busy doing the wrong things, so by having small goals and taking one step at a time make sure that you do things that are conducive to your journey and your goal. And do things with the right attitude because if you don’t, you are just ticking boxes.
So Goals are fantastic, but it’s the journey, the attitude, the determination and the reason why, that will make all the difference to you hitting that goal and celebrating victory.
